Partnership with Coker Univeristy

Blueprint Project is excited to partner with Coker University's McCall School of Visual and Performing Arts to bring new opera to life. From a large proscenium theater to individual studios and practice rooms, Coker's variety of spaces ensures artists will have ample space for writing, rehearsing, or workshopping. In addition to Coker's distinction as an All-Steinway School, the campus is nestled in the idyllic southern town of Hartsville, South Carolina. Artists are able to completely immerse themselves in the creative process all while having amenities such as lodging, restaurants, and coffee shops all within walking distance.
Our Story
In 2016, we hosted our very first artist collaborative workshop in the bucolic town of Granby, Connecticut. Composers from all across the Northeast gathered to be teamed up with singers to create and premiere a brand new work in a single day. Having performed and conducted numerous new operas, musicals, art songs, and ensemble works, our founders are passionate about new American music. Through these experiences and continued thoughtful discussions with composers, we came to realize the urgent need to create Blueprint Project. We are here to provide support and guidance to experimental artists that want to create the next generation of new American musical works for the stage.
